3D radiographic assessment of impacted maxillary canine in orthodontic population of Bihar: a CBCT retrospective study

Background: this study was conducted with an objective to assess the pattern of distribution impacted maxillary canine in orthodontic Bihar population using CBCT.Methods: The included CBCT scans total 1080 patients age group 13-40 years who came for correction Buddha Institute Dental sciences and Hospital. were evaluated presence any canines from July 2021 2022.Results: Out scans, range years, prevalence 2.77% population. these 30 canines, 19 impactions present females 11 males. subjects, 21 had unilateral 9 bilateral impactions. incidence mesioangular (type II) maximum (46.7%) followed by horizontal impaction IV) 23.3%.Conclusions: 2.7% type which commonest (Type II), accordance many other studies.
